I’ve been writing music for my entire adult life. I’ve always been interested in game soundtracks, and how they can serve to support and shape the experience you have of the game. For many developers the soundtrack is an afterthought, a way of filling the empty audio space of the game, but for me it forms the backbone of the whole experience. This page hosts some of the soundtracks for projects in progress or on hiatus, as well as tracks not intended for any particular soundtrack. For a quick overview, you can listen to this 9-minute compilation.
Currently, most of my musical focus is on building a soundtrack for my current project Bound City. At this point, the soundtrack in progress is more than 80 minutes long — but I expect it to become much longer before I’m satisfied. Most of this soundtrack is available for listening here — though in all likelihood most or all of these will be significantly different by the time the game is done. The style starts at 8-Bit, NES style chiptune and diverges from there, slowly expanding in style and sophistication as the world of the game itself expands and becomes stranger.
I created several tracks for my previous project Everending, now on indefinite hiatus. Though the project hasn’t reached fruition, I’m still quite happy with the tone I set with these tracks.
Before and around these projects, I’ve written numerous tracks not intended for use in any particular project. I’m including a few of my favorites here.
I never get tired of the endless expressive possibilities of music. Each moment, each microtone, can contain so much meaning — an impossible inarticulable kind of meaning, unreachable by any other means.
